A dramatic Gothic castle in ancient oak woodland on the edge of Tullamore. The woods are the reliable draw, free and open all year, with trails through 200-year-old oaks and the giant King Oak, one of the oldest trees in Ireland. The castle interior is toured by volunteers and tours are paused for now, so check the website before you go for one. Woods suit all ages.
