One of Ireland's largest and oldest megalithic cemeteries, older than the pyramids, spread across the fields near Sligo town. It's an OPW site with a small visitor centre and short guided tours that make the tombs and their builders come alive, ideal for a history or archaeology topic. Wear good shoes for the grassy paths. Best for ages 6 and up.
